LGBTQIA+ Outreach

Christian is a bilingual immigrant and DACA recipient who works with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) and allied communities. His responsibility is to promote cooperation and collaboration between citizens, community-based organizations, city leadership, and the Austin Police Department. Furthermore, strive to enhance Austin's livability by implementing public safety projects and supporting a variety of diversity and equity initiatives.

Christian also leads the APD Safe Place Initiative - a free and voluntary partnership with the business, faith, and non-profit community that serves a critical role in assisting victims of bias-motivated incidents and hate crimes. He currently serves as the LGBTQIA+ representative of the Austin Police Department for the LGBTQ Quality of Life Advisory Commission, Austin/Travis County Hate Crimes Task Force, Austin Lesbian and Gay Peace Officers Association (LGPOA), and National LGBT Liaison Network.
