SENIORS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT TOGETHER
SENIORS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT TOGETHER (S.A.L.T) is designed to promote personal safety of seniors by organizing community meetings and health/safety fairs. The main purpose of S.A.L.T is to prevent seniors from losing their life savings through scams and frauds. S.A.L.T is comprised of City Council members, police officers, civilian employees from law enforcement agencies and seniors. About 200 seniors attend the safety fair each year. Offerings include:
- Crime Prevention Services - Specialists are available to work with individuals and neighborhood groups in a variety of ways. Some of the services are:
- Neighborhood Watch Blocks – Learn how to create a neighborhood watch block and look out for your property and your neighbors.
- Home & Business Security Surveys – Learn how to make your property or your /business more secure and less vulnerable.
- Personal Safety – Learn how to be more aware of potential dangers & how to avoid problematic situations.
- Business Workers on Watch/Walkers on Watch – designed to train citizens who are out in the neighborhoods walking each day to be alert to problems.
