This Week at Youth Camp

Campers got to interact with  the Travis County Underage Drinking Program, AISD's Social and Emotional Learning Team, Frost Bank, Austin's Municipal Court Chief Prosecutor, the nonprofit Share Art Heal and Life Works.

Here are two video photo montages - the first encapsulates our time spent with AISD's Social and Emotional Learning Team, and the second gives the viewer a look at our time spent with Jet Baker of Share Art Heal.

Memorial for Fort Hood Fallen

In preparation for next week's visit to Fort Hood, Campers also prepared memorial crosses in remembrance of  the nine fallen soldiers who died in a flash flood during a convoy training exercise June 2.

Youth Summer Camp in Full Swing

​Our Youth Summer Camp partnership with Kealing Middle School is in full swing right now from June 5 to July 2, 2016. 80+ school aged children are enjoying four weeks of free summer camp. Participants are enjoying activities, such as bowling, swimming, volleyball and dodge ball and are immersing themselves in the study of art, history, social justice, the environment, leadership, decision making, and time and money management.

Retired APD officer and camp leader, Eric Oakmon, meets Mr. Arnold Van Den Berg - an Austin businessman and Holocaust survivor. Mr. Van Den Berg met with the campers and talked with them about his experience as a child who went into hiding to escape the Nazis.
