Sharon Cannon is assigned to the African American, Faith communities, Blackshear-Prospect Hills Neighborhood and Region 3/Charlie Sector. She is tasked with building productive and positive relationships between the community and our law enforcement officers. Sharon also coordinates events such as the ICARE Community Conference, along with setting up trainings for the entire community (faith community included) that offer topics that cover relevant issues of the day such as:
In addition, Sharon works city-wide, as needed, by assisting with the implementation of programs, planning events and meetings with the Austin police department’s officers, city departments, other law enforcement agencies, neighborhoods, businesses, churches and schools, aiding in bridging the gap between the community and law enforcement, while endeavoring to make Austin a safer and equitable place to live.
