YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGAM:
(1). The History of Youth programs, within the Austin Police Department, were once led by Austin Police Officers.
(2). The Office of Community Liaison Youth Summer Camp Goals and Objectives
Students are selected by school counselors and previous camp attendees through referral. A list of interested students will be compiled and letters sent out to parents to register their student into our program between April –May of the respective year. During the month of May a parent meeting will be scheduled and held in the school cafeteria for camp staff and parents to go over all medical, emergency and liability information for student to attend the current year summer youth leadership program.
(3). Age Range: 10 years – 14 years of age // our teen leaders are 15-17 years of age

(2). The Office of Community Liaison Youth Summer Camp Goals and Objectives
- Goals and Objectives – Office of Community Liaison Summer Youth Leadership Program (OCLSYLP) strives to impact and prevent juvenile delinquency by developing curriculums and activities which will effectively enhance the overall moral character, civic duty and healthy life styles of our communities’ youth.
- Targeted Population – Austin Police Office Community Liaison Summer Youth Leadership Program targets approximately 75-85 Middle School aged students who desire to be better individually; works well with others and enjoys learning and being exposed to new opportunities and experiences. This program provides services to almost 98% of the students receiving the Federal Free or reduced Lunch Program.

- Siblings are allowed
- Collaborating School’s youth, and previous student attendees, have first priority then the students outside of the Austin area are chosen next.
(4). Programs, Activities & Curriculum
- Behavior Modification Methods (Discipline)
- Push-ups
- Laps around the track
- In some worse case scenarios they go to the office for a bit, parents may have to come and pick them up
- Severe cases the student cannot return to our summer program.
