NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
2024
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that fosters positive relationships and communication between community members and police. It encourages community awareness, involvement, and provides law enforcement accessibility in order to make our neighborhoods safer. Thousands of Central Texas neighbors take part in National Night Out traditionally on the first Tuesday in October. This year National Night Out will occur on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
On Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, residents of neighborhoods throughout Austin and across Texas will turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters, EMS medics, and Code inspectors. Throughout Austin and across the state of Texas, citizens will be having block parties, cook-outs and neighborhood walks as a show of solidarity against crime.
This event is RAIN OR SHINE.

- Please note that you will not be notified ahead of time if a first responder visits your party. They will come as they are available.
- Do you want to close your street? Visit this link here for more information.
- The APD Office of Community Liaison is not responsible for sending public safety agency representatives to block parties. Each agency decides based on their staffing and workload. By registering, they are aware of your party.
